Suddenly, I realized that our relationship had taken a turn recently. I never expected. that his own words would come back to him like a boomerang.
As I looked at his displeasing face, I realized the project would commence in just at week.
Tonight’s seminar instructor also advised us to enjoy a good meal with our families. and bid farewell before the project.
Tomorrow marks our anniversary. We will conclude where we began, a testament to the affection we’ve shown over the years.
“Let’s head back tonight. I need to sort a few things out,” I suggested.
Chandler’s face lit up, and he eagerly opened the passenger door for me.
I rarely rode in his car; even for our May Day trip, we used my own car.
A pair of black stockings lay quietly on the passenger seat.
His domain, once beyond my reach, was where Lily had become ensnared by him. without scruples.
I took a step back and opened the rear door.
“I’ll sit back here!”
In the dim light, Chandler’s eyes seemed ablaze.
He casually tossed the stockings on the ground and insisted I take the passenger seat. After a tiring day, I simply wanted a moment of quiet rest, but he managed to annoy me greatly.
“Disgusting!”
That single word halted his movements.
Seeing that I closed my eyes and ignored him, he angrily started the car.
“Yasmine, are you upset?”
“A few days ago, Lily tore her stockings during a performance, so she changed them in the car. I think she forgot to bring them with her.”
“Believe me, we didn’t…”
“Well, I believe you.”
Can you please just be quiet?
“Yasmine, you weren’t always like this…”
The car wasn’t moving fast. In the dim light of the flickering street lamps, I blinked sleepily and quietly gazed at Chandler’s profile.
“What was I like before?”
