Chapter 6 No More Bullying Oona
- Tyler and Anson patted their chests, exchanging relieved glances as Clayton walked out of sight.
- Clayton’s notoriety was well-known. He had a reputation for being a cold-blooded son of a gun, and that earned him respect, even from his friends—and fear, too, for that matter.
- Anson nudged Tyler with a smirk. “Hey, what do you think he meant? Do you think Clay finally got laid? Seems kinda quick, though.”
- Tyler scratched his chin, pondering. “Yeah, weird, right? Maybe he, uh, couldn’t perform? Can’t imagine a quickie taking that little time for Clay.”
- Anson nodded seriously. “Well, he’s a newbie, right? Newbies don’t exactly last that long, do they?”
- “Yeah, definitely gotta work on him,” Tyler said, looking determined. “We gotta toughen him up a bit so he could last longer.”
- Back in the car, Clayton chuckled to himself when he discovered the car was empty.
- Oona’s quick agreement had felt suspicious, more like a way to placate him. No surprise there. Oona wasn’t one to just do what she was told.
- Meanwhile, Oona used her fuzzy memory to return to Gustama Court. By the time she arrived, most of her injuries had already healed.
- The original Oona was born with a mental disability. Her grandmother, Old Mrs. Walsh, deemed her a burden on the Walsh family name and fortune. Without a second thought, she banished Oona to the countryside.
- Mr. and Mrs. Walsh couldn’t bear to be separated from their daughter.
- But that old witch, Old Mrs. Walsh, took advantage of a moment’s distraction and stole Oona away. It took them an agonizing decade to finally find her.
- Sadly, due to her pre-existing intellectual disability, Oona had significant developmental delays. Even with the extra care and attention from her parents after returning home, these delays persisted.
- Verona, Oona’s relative, would often manipulate her into going out. Verona and her friends would then bully Oona relentlessly, exploiting her trusting nature.
- Due to her timidity and intellectual disability, Oona would simply smile vacantly in response to their taunts.
- Verona’s friends would then resort to name-calling, cruelly referring to Oona’s condition, calling her names like “retard” whenever they saw her.
- One time, they even pushed her into the pool! It took forever for her to climb out, all soaking wet, at which point a young man appeared, offering her his jacket to cover herself.
- From that moment onwards, she developed a romantic attachment to the young man and eventually fell head over heels for him.
- The man turned out to be the eldest son of the Dubin family, the very one who held Verona’s interest. Naturally, she wouldn’t tolerate a retard harboring such feelings for her crush.
- While Wesley held no affection for the intellectually disabled Oona, he found her repulsive. His sole reason for giving her the jacket was amusement at her awkward behavior.
- Of course, a “retard” wouldn’t grasp this! She simply misinterpreted Wesley’s actions as kindness and compassion, which Verona exploited. By manipulating Oona’s feelings for Wesley, she lured her out.
- Consequently, Oona was tricked into entering the arena and nearly became prey for the ferocious beasts.
- The current Oona, who replaced the original one through unknown means, felt sorry for the past Oona. Now, she wants revenge and vows not to be bullied anymore.
- After reliving the original Oona’s memories, Oona went to take a shower.
- It wasn’t until she washed away all the blood that she finally looked in the mirror. It was her own face staring back at her!
- The girl’s skin was as white as snow, like a perfect porcelain doll. Her features were delicate, and her eyes were shiny black and slightly lifted at the corners. Her cute nose sat above rosy pink lips, and her wet hair flowed down her shoulders like a gorgeous femme fatale.
- Its face exuded an air of exquisite innocence and chilling allure, bestowing the girl with a unique and captivating beauty.
- However, her demeanor exuded an icy coldness, and a hint of brutality and cruelty seemed deep within her core.
- Oona raised an eyebrow, wondering if her rebirth in this body was simply a coincidence because they shared the same appearance and age.
