Chapter 24 I Wish She Would Die
Emilys previous behavior had pushed Olivia to her breaking point. Nathan likely understood why Olivia was upset. However, he believed the child. Tve always trusted Liam and never accused him of falsifying the results! But the DNA results are different, so you can’t leave yet.” Emily’s expression immediately changed when she heard what her son said. Is he still suspicious? Or does he not trust the DNA results at all?
Olivia furrowed her brows, unwilling to continue arguing with him. She knew for a fact that Emily had tampered with the test results. Her actions clearly indicated her refusal to acknowledge Liam as Nathan’s son or accept Liam into the family!
Furthermore, it was also questionable how Liam had fallen sick! It might not be related to Nathan, but it was undoubtedly linked to Emily! She had no desire for Liam to return to the Carter family, so she might as well grant Emily’s wishes.
“I believe it’s unnecessary! Even if I stay, the outcome will be the same. I hope you won’t make things difficult for me, Mr. Carter.” She stood her ground firmly and insisted on leaving. However, Nathan was adamant about not letting her go… The two of them reached a stalemate.
Emily preferred to avoid further entanglement between them and was content to see Olivia leave. She wanted Olivia to stay away. Emily grabbed Nathan and said, “Nathan, now that you know the truth, we should go. If you want children, you can have them with Emma. You don’t need anyone else. Remember that Emma is your fiancée!”
Olivia’s expression turned even colder upon hearing this. With a sudden burst of strength, she broke free from Nathan’s grasp and left with the child without turning back. She didn’t hesitate at all!
Nathan’s hand froze in mid–air. He watched her leave for a moment before staring at his mother coldly with. an intense, penetrating gaze as if he wanted to see through Emily.
Feeling somewhat guilty under his scrutiny, Emily looked away and retorted, “What’s wrong? I didn’t say anything wrong. Why are you looking at me like that? Remember that you and Olivia are from different worlds. The Carter family has irreconcilable differences with her!”
Nathan’s demeanor remained unchanged as he questioned her sternly. “Even if we’re at odds with her, what does that have to do with Liam? Why did you treat Liam like that? He’s just a child. How can you make a child stand outside in the sun until he suffers from heatstroke?” His words were threatening, on top of his assertive demeanor.
Even Emily, who had once held a position of authority, felt significant pressure. Emily’s expression darkened, and she replied stubbornly, “It’s because that child is too laidback and rude. He has no respect for his elders. What positive influence can that woman offer him? Think about it! Thankfully, he isn’t part of the Carter family. If he were, who knows what he would grow up to become.”
“Enough! It’s clear that you’re simply venting your anger, Nathan called her out bluntly. Emily despised Olivia and took it out on Liam when he was absent, intentionally causing him to suffer from heatstroke. “You don’t like him, and you’re just picking fights for no reason. Regardless of Liam’s actions, you refuse to treat him kindly.”
Confronted with her son’s accusations, Emily was incensed. She glared angrily at him. “That’s right! I do despise Olivia. I detest her! I wish she and her child would die. Nathan! Remember who was responsible for your father’s death back then. She made us go through years of hardship! Am I supposed to forgive Olivia?”
