Chapter 16 Absolutely Uncultured
“Mrs. Carter,” Ethan greeted her respectfully. Liam stood there nonchalantly and blinked, looking quite relaxed. Emily glanced at them indifferently and instructed Ethan, “Nathan said he left an important document on the desk in the office. He asked you to deliver it.”
“Oh?” Ethan was taken aback and somewhat skeptical. He had brought the necessary documents with him when he came earlier. Did I forget something? He instinctively moved to leave. Mr. Carter was always strict and disliked careless behavior. Today’s meeting with Mr. Quince was crucial, and he couldn’t afford any mistakes.

Only Liam and Emily remained in the room. Liam was an intelligent boy. He looked at Emily with a piercing gaze and asked. “Did you deliberately send Mr. Ethan away to talk to me, Grandma?” Emily was caught off guard by the blunt question and was momentarily stunned. She also found the term ‘Grandma‘ quite grating.
“Who’s your grandma? Don’t call me that.” Her tone was sharp, and she had a fierce expression. Liam said. boldly and fearlessly, “If you don’t like it, I won’t call you that. What do you want to talk to me about?”
Emily couldn’t be bothered to beat around the bush. After entering the room, she towered over Liam and glared at him. “I want you to get out of Carter Manor immediately! You’re an illegitimate child of unknown origins. You don’t deserve to stay here! My son isn’t your dad. Don’t claim to be his son!”
“Please watch your words. I’m not an illegitimate child. I have a mommy, and I’ve found my daddy now. Even if you don’t acknowledge it, it’s a fact, Liam reminded her. Emily couldn’t help but laugh, “You’re so eloquent at such a young age! Did that wench, Olivia, teach you this? Does she think I’ll accept her by doing this? Dream on! Let me tell you, no matter the truth, the Carter family will never accept you.”
“Nathan is already engaged. After getting married, he’ll have his own children, who will be the Carter family’s legitimate bloodline. As for you…” Emily sneered at Liam, “Who do you think you are? Olivia Monroe gave birth to you. What right do you have to be a part of the Carter family? Let me tell you, you should quickly leave if you have any common sense. Don’t make me send you away.”
“Why don’t you dare say this in front of Daddy?” Liam’s face also turned cold. He stared sharply at Emily. “Is it because Dad won’t listen to you, so you can only warn me? But I’m not afraid. No matter what you say, I still want to be with Daddy!”
“You…!” Emily was instantly furious. She didn’t expect the child to be so sharp–tongued. The more she looked. at him, the more annoyed she felt. She pointed at Liam furiously and berated him. “Didn’t Olivia teach you any manners? You’re absolutely uncultured!” Liam looked at her calmly and said, “Mommy taught me good manners, but you swore just now. Isn’t that considered more uncultured?”
“You…!” Emily was livid at being called out. She glared at the four–year–old before her and didn’t believe that Olivia had taught him good manners. How could this child say such things if it wasn’t for that woman?
