Chapter 11
Timothy reached out and tried to grab my hand, but I dodged it by moving sideways.
“Evie, please don’t be so cruel.
“You’ve left me for over a month now, and I finally realized what I want. I love you, and I don’t wanna lose you.
“Evie, please. Please give me another chance, just once, okay?”
Timothy begged me desperately, but I no longer felt happy seeing him. I just felt annoyed.
I closed the door and shut him outside.
It seemed that the positions of Timothy and I had been reversed.
He would buy breakfast every morning and wait for me at the door.
At noon, he would order takeout and have it delivered downstairs to my company.
When I got off work, he would come to drive me home.
When we were together before, Timothy had always complained about me being clingy. He wanted freedom and space.
Now that I let him go free, he started to badger me.
He tried to impress me, but I always ignored him and walked past him without even looking at him. Timothy didn’t get mad. He would follow me silently until I closed the door of
my house. This kind of life didn’t last long before Mia came to me.
Under everyone’s watch, she rushed into our office and swept everything on the table to the floor. When people gathered around to see what was going on, Mía suddenly fell to her knees with tears in
her evés.
“Ms. Joe, did you instigate Timothy to divorce me?
“I have been diagnosed with a terminal illness, and I don’t have much time to live. Can you please leave
us alone?”
She knocked her head on the ground again and again, and soon, her forehead became red and swollen.
I seldom talk about my private life with my colleagues.
Mia’s words gave people wrong ideas about me and made them think I was the unforgivable third party who destroyed her family.
I was so angry that I was shaking all over. I took out my phone and called Timothy with trembling hands.
“Come and get your wife!”
Then, I called the police.
In front of everyone, including the police officers, I showed various pictures to prove my relationship with Timothy, revealing how I prepared for my wedding, how Mia and Timothy dug up my
grandfather’s grave, and how the police handled it.
Mia. Don’t pretend to be soft to win people’s sympathy!
“You stole my groom and made him leave me at the altar, which caused my grandfather to die later. Then, you dug up my grandfather’s grave, and now you are slandering me.
“I’ll never forget what you’ve done to me, and I won’t let it slide.”
Realizing what had happened, people started pointing fingers at Mia, scolding her for being shameless.
When the police were about to take her away, Mia panicked and looked at Timothy pleadingly. But the latter ignored her request for help and looked at her coldly.
“I told you not to hurt Evie again!
“You brought all this to yourself!
“It doesn’t matter if you don’t want a divorce. I will file for divorce tomorrow!”
Mia’s face suddenly showed a look of despair.
