Chapter 13 Please Don’t Leave Me
Chris‘ expression was priceless,
Sharon panicked, attempting to snatch the phone away.
“Amber, you dare to set me up?”
I dodged her. “Wasn’t I forced to do this by you?”
Chris snapped out of it and pushed her away.
She fell face–first onto the shards, screaming in pain.
The surrounding guests murmured and pointed.
Ignoring the injuries on her face and body, she clutched at Chris‘ pant leg. “It’s not like that, Chris, listen to me. I can explain it. I just loved you too much, but you all chose her, I was so desperate to keep you…”
Chris kicked her away without a glance.
She fell again among the shards, injuries compounded.
This situation was beyond her control.
She yelled, “Chris, you once promised to treat me well all your life, why are you doing this to me!”
Chris finally looked at her. “The foundation of my kindness was that you once saved me, but the person who saved me was never you.”
Chris turned away from her, then approached me, trying to help me up. “I’m sorry, Amber, are you alright…” I pushed away his attempting hand.
“Don’t touch me!”
After this incident, I was even more convinced that the man before me was not worth it.
He tried to speak, but someone pushed him away.
Before I could react, I was lifted into someone’s arms.
It was Troy. He asked with a carefree laugh, “How did you grow up to feel so aggrieved?”
His words brought tears to my eyes.
Chris intervened, “You have no right to hold Amber, let her go!”
Troy looked back at him, challenging, “And you do?”
I couldn’t take it anymore. “Chris, get lost.”
Chris froze, not expecting me to side with Troy.
Afterward, Troy took me to the hospital to treat my wounds.
Following that day, Sharon became the laughingstock of our circle.
Her facial injuries were so severe that she could no longer work in the entertainment industry.
Chris stood vigil every night beneath my apartment from dusk till dawn.
I never saw him.
Even when we crossed paths at the mall, we were strangers.
He tried to talk to me, but I ignored him.
He sent projects to my company. I accepted them.
One night, drunk, he barged into my office.
He has lost a lot of weight over the past few days.
He was no longer the spirited man he once was.

“Amber, I’m sorry… I’ve true colors. I won’t give her any more opportunities or contact her again.”
I had heard about Sharon being blacklisted and paying a hefty penalty for breaching her contract.
I wasn’t sure if Chris was genuinely ruthless or just putting on a show for me.
“It’s all irrelevant to me now, Chris. I don’t care what happens between you two or what hes ahead for you.”
Tears filled his eyes as he pleaded, “Do you really not want me anymore? Please don’t leave me. What can I do for you to forgive me?”
“We can’t go back, Chris. Seeing you reminds me of Aaron! I could forgive you only if you could bring Aaron hack to
