Chapter 44: She Doesn’t Care
Anymore
Candy was furious when she saw her like that.
She fumed, “Damn Michael! Not only does he refuse to divorce me, now he won’t even give me any money?”
Chloe thought it would take days to sell her ring.
She never expected it, but the very next day, someone wanted to buy it.
After getting a call from the shop, Chloe rushed over, thinking, “If the price is right, I’ll sell it even if it’s a bit cheap.”
That wedding ring’s pointless to keep anyway.
“Sold is sold, no turning back!”
She walked into the shop, and the attendant led her to the lounge where the customer was waiting.
Chloe’s face darkened the moment she saw the woman elegantly reading a magazine on the cream–colored sofa.
“Chloe, is that your ring? What a coincidence!” Lucy looked up with a cheerful smile.

Chloe smirked to herself, thinking, “Well, isn’t that convenient?”
She used to wear that ring all the time; there’s no way Lucy hasn’t seen it.
“Chloe, don’t get me wrong. I only wanted to buy that ring because it’s Anna’s last piece, and it’s got high collector value.”
That ring? Yeah, Michael had it custom–made by a famous international jeweler. It’s one of a kind.
Sure, it was worth more than five million dollars, but Chloe needed the cash fast, so she didn’t haggle.
She never would’ve guessed the buyer was Lucy.
Chloe pressed her lips together and said coldly, “Sorry, the ring’s no longer for sale.”
The waitress standing nearby widened her eyes at her words.
If this deal goes through, their commission will be at least ten grand each. But suddenly, it’s off the table.
“Ms. Nelson, not satisfied with the price? You can negotiate. This lady is genuinely interested in buying the ring!”
Chloe stayed silent as Lucy walked over, a cheerful smile on her face.
“Chloe, this ring was never meant to be yours. You’ve had it for years, but it’s time it returned to its rightful owner.”

“Michael knew I was shopping for jewelry today, and he insisted
I pick something I really like.”
Chloe knew she was here today just to mess with herself.
Hearing her words made Chloe feel utterly disgusted.
Chloe clenched her teeth in frustration. Every time Lucy bullied her, it was because she loved Michael.
But this time, she couldn’t care less about the guy.
Chloe squinted, let out a soft chuckle, and settled back into the single armchair.
“Alright, since you really want it, I’ll sell it to you. But the price just went up!”
“How about fifty million dollars?”
The waitress stared at Chloe in disbelief. Just yesterday, she thought Chloe had class. Now, she realized Chloe was just a gold digger.
This ring is worth, at most, 20 million dollars.
“She actually called out a jaw–dropping price of fifty million dollars.”
The waiter sighed, thinking this deal was going down the drain.
Chapter 44: She Doesn’t Care Anymore With a grin, Lucy said, “Deal.”
Chloe smirked, thinking, “Well, isn’t she generous?”

Someone offered a high price, and she was thrilled. She took the money and happily left the shop.
She immediately called Candy to grab a bite.
Lucy got the ring, instantly tweeted about it, and tagged Anna. She bragged that she snagged Anna’s last piece and said it was worth every penny.
One picture showed off her taste and wealth.
Candy sat across from Chloe, casually scrolling through Twitter, when she stumbled upon Lucy’s tweet.
She almost stabbed the fish head with her fork.
“Did you sell the ring to Lucy?”
“Yeah.”
“Are you crazy? Don’t you find her disgusting?”
Candy couldn’t understand why Chloe did it.
