Chapter 347 Three Weeks Pregnant
Chloe stiffened, uncertain herself about the situation
“Whore child is it?”
This question ignited a fire in Chloe. “Michael, damn you!”
Michael took a deep breath, saying, “Chiloe, I don’t want to argue with you. I just want an explanation. What happened at the airport?”
James, with a sly grin, interjected, enjoying the drama and eager for a fight between the two, “What else could have happened? You probably heard the gossip from those people…”
As Michael and James locked eyes, the tension bebrern them was palpable.
After a moment, Michael averted his gaze
He didn’t believe that the child Chloe carried was James
Although Chloe felt utterly disappointed by him recently, he knew she wasn’t a frivolous woman, let alone someone who would casually sleep with another man and end up pregnant..
Just then, the doctor entered, holding a report.
“Chloe, your report is ready.”
Stepping forward, Michael asserted, “I’m her husband. Is she pregnant?*
The doctor glanced at him with complex emotions
“Your wife is in the hospital sick, and all you care about is the child?”
Feeling somewhat unjustly scolded, Michael clarified that he didn’t mean that way.
Coughing bice, the doctor approached Chloe’s bed.
However, just as the doctor was about to speak, Michael’s phone rang from his pocket.
Impatient, the doctor shot him a look.
Michael quickly silenced the call, gesturing for the doctor to continue.
But within seconds, the phone rang again.
Already with a headache, Chloe couldn’t bear the incessant ringing.
“If it’s urgent, step out and take it.”
She thought, “Probably Lucy or some other random chick ringing him up agnia!“.
Glancing at the screen, Michael saw it was Ethan calling.
Ethan rarely called when he wasn’t in the office, so it must be important
Despite the urgency, Michael didn’t want to miss Chloe’s diagnosis results.
At this moment, the doctor noticed a missing document in the report.
“Wait here, I’ll be right back,” he said to Chloe, who nodded.
As the doctor left, Michael took the opportunity to answer the call
Soon, the doctor returned, but his call seemed like it would last for more than a few minutes.
“Where’s your husband ?”
Chalos remained silent for a moment before saying, “Doctor, go ahead and tell me. No need to wait for him. I can listen on my own.”
The doctor as her a deep look, sensing the strained relationship between Chloe and her husband.
“Alright, the results are in. You’re three weeks pregnant.”

Chloe and James were both stunned. James instinctively looked at her belly.
While James had considered the possibility of her being pregnant, hearing it confirmed was still surprising,
Chloe visibly tensed.
“Doctor, how is this possible? I’ve been using contraception, and… I even took a pregnancy test before, which was negative!”
“Pregnancy tests can sometimes be inaccurate, and contraception isn’t foolproof. Can test results be wrong?”
Chloe hesitated, feeling incredulous as she touched her belly.
She thought. “Is there really a new life growing inside me?”
After a moment of contemplation, she suddenly snapped back, saying “James, help me close the door to the room!”
James complied, even locking it.
Chloe then turned to the doctor. “Doctor, can you keep my pregnancy a secret from my husband for now?”

Once the doctor left, Michael returned within five minutes,
Noticing the doctor’s absence, he asked, puzzled, “What did the doctor say?”
Chloe, composed now, replied. “What else could he say? Not pregnant, just a stomach bug”
“Not pregnant?”
Michael was taken aback by this unexpected result.
His eyes betrayed a subtle disappointment that Chloe couldn’t decipher.
In her mind, she wondered, “What is he up to?
I’m not pregnant, yet he seems unhappy?”
“If you don’t believe me, you can ask the doctor yourself. I have no reason to deceive you.” Chloe stated firmly, trying to appear nonchalant.
Michael, not suspecting her, felt a discomfort within him
It was then he realized he truly desired to have a child with Chloe.
“You want to have a child with Chloe? I thought you’d prefer her barren,” James chimed in, always ready for some drama.
Michael shot him a displeased look.
“What are mu
you still doing here?”
“None of your business!” James retorted, knowing Chloe hadn’t asked him to leave.
Chloe, overwhelmed, remained silent, afraid that saying too much could complicate matters.
“Did you have some work at the company just now?” Chloe inquired, somewhat distracted.
“Had a meeting.”
“Then you should go back. I’m fine, just a bout of acute gastroenteritis. I’ll be fine with some IV fluids.”
Chloe urged him to leave.
Now
eager for his departure, she couldn’t bear his presence, feeling restless.
“Not in a hurry,” Michael stated, now inclined to stay.
Turning to James, he unexpectedly said, “Thank you for earlier at Paramount Airlines.”
James mised an eyebrows, surprised by the gratitude, wondering, “What’s gotten into him?”
Reflecting on James assisting Chloe earlier and helping her to the ear in the parking lot, Michael felt it should be due to her stomach issues.
“Your thanks are noted. Your marital affairs are your own concern.” James replied, slightly irked by his unfulfilled plans for the day.
Seeing the couple about to converse again, he saw no reason to linger and left.

James gone, Chloe also felt the need to be alone.
Watching the IV drip slowly, she felt time drag on.
