After the robotic sound ended with a “beep“, Chloe Nelson tightened her grip on the phone with a pale face.
The wound on her left arm had stopped bleeding, but the lingering scent of antiseptic spray smelled awful.
Just a moment ago, the plane was caught up in severe turbulence, and everyone’s life was hanging by a thread.
Now that they were safe and sound, people around Chloe were ..all making calls to their loved ones, telling them not to worry
about them. Some of them almost shed tears of joy.
Chloe, however, couldn’t reach her husband, which disappointed her very much.

“Chloe, why isn’t your husband here to pick you up? He should know the news by now. Where is he…”

Then she replied with a forced smile, “He’s probably caught up with something.”
“He’s caught up with what? Does it even matter more than this? We almost died up there!”
Stella said with a pout. Just when she was about to continue, her boyfriend held her back.
She bit her tongue and mumbled a few pleasantries before insisting on taking Chloe to get her wound treated..
Chloe let her lead the way, feeling sad.
“Look, it’s Captain Shawn!”
Hearing that sudden shout, Chloe snapped out of her thoughts.
She instinctively looked up and saw several high–ups from Paramount Airlines, including Michael, approaching them.
Though dressed in uniform just like the others, Michael stood out among them.
He was tall and sturdy. Under the light, his chiseled features. looked captivating. Yet, he looked aloof and arrogant, sparking whispers among the onlookers.

Chole and Michael Shawn got married three years ago. However, he didn’t allow her to make their relationship public.
So, no one knew that a flight attendant like her turned out to be the almighty caplain’s wife.
During their marriage, Chloe had turned down countless admirers. Meanwhile, Michael was still the perfect bachelor in the eyes of others.
“Gee! He’s so hot!”
“Who’s that stunning woman with him? She’s so chic!”
“That’s Lucy Campbell, the new senior engineer. I heard she and Captain Shawn go way back. He’s been with her all morning. He didn’t even bother to answer the phone calls.”
“They look like a perfect match. Did you guys see how gentle he is when she smiles at her? Gosh! I envy her!”
Amidst the murmurs, Chloe shifted her gaze to the woman next to Michael.
As she recognized the all–too–familiar face, her hand tightened into a fist.
Turned out he was busy accompanying his old flame.
A while back, Lucy announced she was returning and joining Paramount Airlines.
