Chapter 5
My hair was disheveled and I was panting, roaring desperately.
I thought, maybe I really have gone crazy, but that’s good. Being crazy won’t be so painful.
A hint of regret appeared on Julian’s face.
After a long silence, he spoke cautiously.
“Diana… I’m sorry… I’m sorry… I really didn’t know our son would have an accident, I–”
I stopped laughing crazily and looked at him coldly as if he were a monster.
“No need, just get a divorce. You can live happily with your dear lover and your son, the dog.”
After saying that, I went downstairs with determination.
I never want to see these two bastards again.
I wanted to leave here. I didn’t want to be reminded of anything.
I didn’t want to think of the days when my son and I depended on each other, which had all been ruined by the man in front of me.
I wish this scumbag and his lover, with the dog that shared my son’s name, a lifetime of happiness.
I wouldn’t be involved in their lives.
I didn’t want to have anything to do with them in my life anymore.
I didn’t take anything with me.
After going downstairs, I just held the Transformer that Avery threw down the stairs in
my arms.
That was the first toy that Julian bought for Joseph on his first birthday.
I remember clearly how Joseph looked at the toy and, for the first time, clearly said. “dad.”
Julian was also delighted at that time.
Ultimately, his love for Joseph was fleeting.
I still remember that Joseph was babbling and asking him to play with him.
But after he answered a phone call, he put Joseph down with a cold face.
Later, I found out that it was just because Avery had caught a cold and he wanted to bring her medicine.
In this day and age, one can get medicine delivered in half an hour from online orders.
Yet he insisted on driving for more than an hour and going over there in person to

show his affection.
Joseph looked at his cold back and burst into tears.
He was so tiny and fragile, so eagerly seeking his father’s love, and was completely ignored by Julian.
After that, Joseph became silent when he was with Julian.
Julian left our boy behind countless times to see Avery.
When Joseph saw him coming back, he no longer opened his little arms to greet him. When he suddenly wanted to hug Joseph, Joseph twisted his body and refused firmly.
Joseph couldn’t speak much yet, but he understood so many things.
Countless days and nights of being abandoned by Julian, I got through it with our son. My son had asked me this many times with a look of grievance on his face. “Mom, why doesn’t dad ever take me to kindergarten or come to my parent–teacher meetings? The other kids say I don’t have a dad and won’t play with me. Can you ask dad to accompany me once?”
At that time, I told this matter very seriously to Julian.
What did Julian do? He said that Avery cut her finger while cooking.
He was accompanying her to the emergency room in the hospital and blamed me for disturbing him for such a small matter.
Later, I found out that Avery only had a slight scratch on her fingertips.
By the time she got to the hospital, her broken skin should have healed.
But to Julian, it became a very important matter.
Every time I felt sad because of these things, my son always knew how to comfort me.
“Don’t be sad, mom. We can live just fine without dad. I’ll be with you. forever.”
But my sensible and lovely little baby died at such a young age.
